A simple question (and a simple answer)

July 29, 2009

in SEO

Q.:

How can the same people who stuff the meta description tag with comma-separated keywords and hide links on clients sites call themselves SEOs (in 2009)?

A.:

Because that’s what they get paid for.

(No, this is not a joke).

Maybe your answer is:

Yes, it happens to me too.
– Client: “we need meta tag keywords for every pages”
– Me: “meta tag keywords doesn’t matter anymore”
– Client: “ok, but we need it, and we pay for”
….

And no, was not an Italian Client
:)

haha nice one.

speaking of Italians there’s one rampaging around here working with Ibiza’s worst web designer, they are building client sites at great expense, charging them extra for “SEO” and then HIDING (as in invisible in every way except the bottom left of Firefox) links back to another directory style site of the designers.

the worst part about it is that the client site is supposed to rank for “Ibiza widgets” but of course doesn’tvery well, however their site does, because of the 4 hidden links on that site, and multiple on other sites they manage.

so in the meantime they try to sell advertising space in their directory! whats worse…

a) risking getting your client banned to rank your own site via subterfuge, or..
b) charging a client to rank their site, and hiding links on his landing pages to rank
your own?

some of these Italians are pretty shady ;)

hope you well dude.
